Rockefeller Plaza New York City NY and Through Our Eyes Gallery

I wanted to tell a little about the Through Our Eyes Gallery that's located at Rockefeller Plaza NY so I felt that it would be informative to share a bit about where we are at and what surrounds us in this well known city.  Through Our Eyes Gallery is a small informal venue that shares the art of Clive, Vickie, Ada, Maddie and Nillia.  We are located at Rockefeller Plaza NY next door to the subway at the corner of West 50th st and 5th ave. We share the area with Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, SNL tv set, Sports Bikes EC Custom shop also carriage rides are available in the downtown area. Not far from the gallery a public photo studio on the sidewalk can be found for anyone to use. While looking around one day I discovered several doors that take you to hidden garden spots up on rooftops that had wonderful views of the city. The Rockefeller Plaza is owned by The Tombstone Az Role playing venue/sim which also hosts RFL events. Please enjoy your visit. and check  back often as we  will be changing artwork regularly we hope. Thank you in advance for  visitinghttp://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tombstone%20Winslow/30/79/2052

Seagull Island Park

Today I went back to visit a sim that I have spent a lot of time at over the years. This is another great place that has hidden treasures everywhere you look. Relaxation is the focus here with many areas to explore. It has the feel of a fishing village to me. Little shops to take a peek in line the dock.Taking a walk along the buildings on the waterfront you will spot different interactive items such as chairs to sit in while watching the water for the mermaid that likes to pop up, if you are lucky you may spot her swimming around. Many waterfowl birds are scattered throughout the area as are other animals that you may catch a glimpse of during your visit. If you get thirsty or hungry there is a little stand near the end of the dock to click on to get some goodies to fill up your belly. Not far from the landing area  there is a small nudist beach, which is the only place nudity is permitted in public, for those who enjoy spending the day in the sun working on that tan. Across the water there is an old wrecked ship that I noticed what I think was an octopus watching me. Next time I will have to take a closer look to be sure once I get my courage up.

There are trails and paths that take you to a lovely waterfall  where nearby I lingered taking in the sound of water splashing as I drank my coffee while resting on a bench. Scattered around also there are cabins and tent sites for those who love the outdoors. Pathways that go up the mountain take you to a spot with chairs, picnic tables and a lounge or vacation home where you have a great view of the lighthouse and water tower plus the mountaintops. If you follow the lower paths you will come across a wooden walkway that crosses a small waterfall along the rivers edge and then up to more cabins. If you love the great outdoors then this sim certainly contains everything you need to enjoy yourself.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Seagull/85/97/29

Baskinta .. An Experiment in World Peace ..LEA11

I missed the  pre viewing of this serene sim due to RL things  but took some time to go over and explore recently. What a wonderful place to meditate and take in the beautiful views. I enjoyed sitting in a chair looking out at the scene that surrounded me. Balloons hovering in the air filling the sky with color, water lilies glistening in the sunlight and a lighthouse high on a hill  brought so much peace to me. Thank you to the Linden Endowment of the Arts LEA for the grant that enabled the creators to come up with a sim that is is so visually calming and peaceful. I noticed a sign that stated there will be events held there so please take a few moments to check those out when you have time. Everyone involved with creating this quaint enlightening fishing village should be very proud of what they have accomplished. The skills of Wren Noir, GoodCross, Ayla Zhoy along with Morgan Whitfield  and anyone else who participated have shown us in the Second Life community how each of us need to take a few minutes to catch our breath, take in the views and find peace within ourselves.   Landmark http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA11/224/30/40

The Lounge By The Bay

Although this blog is mainly about sims to explore I plan on adding odds and ends occasionally on places I enjoy just relaxing at. One of my favorites is The Lounge By The Bay which is a really cool friendly Jazz club. You land at the red carpeted entrance and  then go through the doors to be surrounded by Jazz at it's best. Here you will hear Jazz in all its forms such as classic ,swing, Electro to name a few. Most weekends you can catch live DJ's sharing their knowledge for you to enjoy. I rarely visit clubs but this one has  been one of my favorites for quite awhile. If you get a chance stop on over and lose yourself in the wonderful atmosphere there.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lozi/140/149/43
